Welcome to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office District 8 Village of Wellington website. The Village of Wellington is the home to approximately 65,000 residents and it encompasses approximately 49 square miles. Wellington is the Winter Equestrian Capital of the world, hosting the U.S. Open in polo and the Winter Equestrian Festival. The Village of Wellington government stakeholders and our law enforcement team continuously work in collaboration with each other to address crime and community needs. Our District 8 team embraces problem solving and community oriented policing philosophies, beginning with a strong partnership between law enforcement and our residents. This, along with trust, transparency and availability, is paramount in meeting our community’s needs and expectations. The men and women assigned to District 8 are committed to providing excellent and dedicated customer and law enforcement services.

I am Captain Nichole Addazio and it is a privilege to serve the residents, business owners, and visitors of this great community. I am a twenty-nine-year-resident of Palm Beach County, a previous Wellington resident and Wellington High School graduate. I have been employed with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for 25 years, serving in law enforcement the past 23 years. My career at PBSO began at 19-years-old as a Cadet while attending my undergraduate program at Florida Atlantic University where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a double major in Sociology and Criminal Justice.

My experience in the agency includes working in operations as a Road Patrol Deputy, Road Patrol Sergeant and Road Patrol Watch Commander. In addition, I have served in several specialty units to include the Organized Crime Bureau’s Gang Unit as a Detective, Special Victims Unit as a Detective and Unit Trainer, Internal Affairs Division Sergeant, Use of Force Unit Sergeant, District 6 (West Boynton) Executive Officer, D19 (South Palm Beach) Executive Officer and most recently served as a Lieutenant in the Violent Crimes Division Gang Unit. I completed my graduate program at Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2012, receiving a Master of Science Degree in Psychology. I am a co-founder and previous Director of the Florida Women’s Law Enforcement Network, a non-for-profit corporation providing mentorship, training and leadership for women in law enforcement across South Florida, which operated between the years 2014 and 2019.
